Disconnected Media is a creative collective that provides video production and still photography services.

We specialize in producing branded documentaries that are usually released online or via DVD. 

We also produce industrials and promotional video content such as trade show videos and product demos.

Our productions are usually created with the sensibilities of the 17-34 year old audience in mind.

We typically work with clients from youth culture such as action sports companies, independent music labels, and lifestyle brands. We also work with ad agencies, and corporate clients.

The creative collective at Disconnected Media are deeply rooted in youth culture, including action sports, music, and film.

Bios

Dan Napoli
Dan Napoli is the managing partner and co-founder of Disconnected Media. He currently directs, edits, and scores the majority of the company's video projects. 

His professional video career began in 2000 when he served as music supervisor for the action sports documentary PUSH, a film by Patrick Spohrer and Bryon Benini. He later went on to write, producer and score an instructional action sports video, Avalanche 101 directed by fellow DP Media collective member Brad Maughan. The two created a dvd video magazine together, Jawwbraker Video Series, which ran from 2002-2005. Napoli wrote,produced, and scored the series.

Over the years, Napoli has gained a reputation as a superior music licensor and music scorer, showing a knack for pulling music into video projects from both influential artists such as Jawbreaker, Jets To Brazil, Hot Water Music, and Bouncing Souls, as well as those ascending larger audiences such as Thursday, Fallout Boy, Taking Back Sunday, and AFI.

Napoli also been a frequent contributor to action sports magazines, writing both features and columns in several paintball magazines.

He holds a comprehensive degree in journalism mass communication and sports marketing from the University of Nebraska-Kearney, and has over ten years experience working in action sports, music, and youth culture.

Christopher Dilts
Based out of Chicago, Disconnected Media's resident photographer, Christopher Dilts, brings a comprehensive and diverse portfolio. From 1999-2004, he served as the photographic editor for P8NT, an independent action sports & lifestyle magazine. With a background beginning in underground music he has shot numerous acclaimed bands including Bright Eyes, Hot Water Music, The Murder City Devils and Milemarker, contributing to magazines such as Alternative Press and Mother Jones.

Additionally he has shot advertising campaigns for lifestyle focused companies such as Chrome Bags and Killing Machine Apparel and is a regular contributor to the urban bike culture magazine COG, and was recently featured in their 2008 photo annual.

A book collecting his portraits of Bicycle Couriers is scheduled for release in the Spring of 2009.

Brad Maughan

Brad holds the unique distinction of being both a graduate from one of the nation's most prestigious film schools, and former professional action sports athlete, as well as a touring musician.

Maughan graduated from the Academy of Art College [now University] located in San Francisco, while simultaneously playing professional paintball. Upon graduation, he helped create and played with San Diego Dynasty, arguably the winningest team in the sports' history, and the most heavily sponsored. 

Maughan is a gifted editor and director, and has handled action sports television productions for Fox Sports Net, and Wintercom. 

Maughan created Jawwbraker Videos Series, a DVD video magazine with DP Media managing partner. Maughan directed and edited the series from 2002-2005.

Tyson Maughan
Tyson Maughan is a gifted cinematographer. Like his older brother Brad, is a graduate of the Academy Of Art College in San Francisco. Maughan is masterful at manipulating light and creating stylized, interesting looks with even the most limited resources. He has filmed on, and been the director of photography for a number of music videos, industrials, and independent films.

Shon Lieske
Shon is a general partner in DP Media. He is also a full-time, general practice attorney, and partner in Lieske Law Firm. Lieske is well versed at number of affairs management procedures.

He co-founded Disconnected Media in 2001 with Dan Napoli. The two became close friends as undergrads at the University of Nebraska-Kearney, where the two bonded over interests in music and action sports such as surfing, snowboarding, and paintball.
